As entrepreneurs, we are all boldly experimenting with new things constantly. Some people have failed on an epic scale; some others are making small mistakes on a daily basis. What does failure mean to us? Well, I am sure we can all look at it differently, either positively or negatively. As a blogger, I learned to summarize my lessons frequently, which lets me produce high-value content and attract more loyal readers. I’ve even written a blog post about these lessons.
I stumbled across this following video the other day. J.K. Rowling, author of the best-selling Harry Potter book series, delivers her Commencement Address, “The Fringe Benefits of Failure, and the Importance of Imagination” (Harvard Magazine) at the Annual Meeting of the Harvard Alumni Association. Watch this 21 minute long video below:

Having watched this video twice so far, here are the 6 biggest lessons I have learned from JK’s speech. As a blogger and entrepreneur, here is what I have to say:
1. Failure is inevitable for anybody who is willing to take risks or take a chance.
2. Learning to enjoy failure is not easy. But once we have mastered that skill, life starts to become more interesting.
3. Aim high. Always stretch your imagination and match it with the reality.
4. Have a positive mental attitude on matter what happens.
5. Don’t let your dreams fly away in front of fears.
6. Always summarize lessons after you fail, so you won’t fall down at the same place again.
Finally, let me close this post with a quote from rocky balboa: “life ain’t about how hard you hit… It’s about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward.” Let us know your point of view about failure in the comment.
