Posterous
I have heard about Posterous several times before. Now the more I think about it, the more excited I get about the idea. This article is a brief walk-through on how to use Posterous and why you should use it. So if this is the first time you heard about this service, spread the word and don’t hesitate to give it a try.
Here are 6 sparky ideas to help you use Posterous creatively.
1. If you don’t have a Posterous account, send an email to post@posterous.com to set up your first account. Instructions are available here
2. Wow, how exciting! After you set up your Posterous account, you can feel free to integrate other popular social networking sites. Posterous lets you post messages by using your email. You can post one message simultaneously on several social media sites.
Posterous currently supports photos, audio files and links, documents and video (both links AND files). Let’s say if I have a YouTube video that I wanted to post. With Posterous, you don’t need to embed the video. Just send an email to post@posterous.com with the video URL and Posterous will transcode your video so that you can see it in a flash player right there in your browser. I can even play videos on my iPhone without flash. Here is a video that I uploaded yesterday.
3. Do you have a customized domain that you want to use? Posterous lets you do that easily. Now, if you type in AndrewRanWong.Posterous.com, the site will redirect you to my own customized domain at AndrewRanWong.com. Moreover, you can also customize the look and feel of your Posterous site by using their theme templates.
4. Posterous works particularly well with Twitter, which I mentioned very briefly in a blog post that I published yesterday. Posterous is integrated in these great Twitter clients (Graph attached). There is even a special Twitter help page on Posterous where you can go learn more about this. Click here to find out.

5. You can now analyze your data by adding Google Analytics to your Posterous account. Not only that, you can add Feedburner RSS feed, getting more stats on who is subscribing via RSS.
6. There are, of course, more interesting aspects about Posterous, including the customizable theme feature, the Posterous Bookmarklet tool. I will leave you to explore these features by yourself. Enjoy.
